Not So Strictly Ballroom

...where same-sex dancing is not so queer!

First offering same-sex dance  lessons in 1995, our goal is to create a community of  social dancers in the gay and lesbian community. We offer dance lessons to singles and couples, and hold classes in the East End of Vancouver. We host monthly social dances where we practise dancing in gay positive venues, organize groups of dancers going to local dance events and have a demo team of dancers available to dance at community events. Our dancers have competed at the Gay Games in Amsterdam and Sydney as well as competitions in North America.

Everyone is welcome at both Tuesday and Saturday  classes  and of course, to our social dances and workshops. Come with a friend, partner or by yourself. We believe that competence and excellence in dancing is only achieved by learning to dance with many people, not just one partner.
